LWF Uganda has a proven track record of 45 years of service in the realm of humanitarianism. Through our programs, we tirelessly serve the most vulnerable populations, extending timely, compassionate, and expert humanitarian aid to those in the most inaccessible regions. We strive to alleviate poverty, resettle those displaced due to insurgency, and elevate the standards of living of both refugees and Ugandans.
“When we walk alongside people in their hardest moments, we learn that strength isn't loud it's quiet, patient, and rooted in the hope that tomorrow can be better. What inspires me is standing with people in their time of need, listening with compassion, and working with purpose to bring dignity and hope where it’s needed most."

Pads, Power, and Possibility: How a Health Club is Keeping Girls in School
In Luuka district, access to Sexual and Reproductive Health services (SRH) has often been limited, especially for young girls. At Namukubembe Primary School, however, a quiet revolution is underway, led by a student Health Club that’s giving girls the knowledge and tools to stay in school.

“LWF trained us in making reusable sanitary pads and also gave us the materials,” says Senior Woman Teacher Prossy Nazziwa. “As a Senior Woman Teacher, I pioneered the formation of the Health Club through which we have taught our learners, both boys and girls how to make reusable pads as well as passed on more knowledge about sexual and reproductive health. The results can speak for themselves because the number of girls dropping out of school has drastically reduced.”
For 15-year-old Nabirye Priscilla, the skills she has gained through the club go beyond health. “During my free time at home, I make these pads, and I am able to sell them and earn some money to buy books and other scholastic needs.”
This initiative is part of LWF’s broader sexual and reproductive health program aimed at helping girls control their future by staying in school. Across Luuka, similar clubs are shaping a future where no girl is left behind.
"LWF Uganda’s unique advantage to achieving sustainable protection outcomes with the people we serve lies in our deep-rooted partnership with community-based structures including local leaders, faith-based organizations, Refugee-led Organizations and other community groups who act as trusted messengers, connecting LWF to the population we serve. LWF Uganda has over time, invested in building capacities of community structures like Child Protection Committees, role model men, VHTs, Peace Promoters, Para counsellors, etc to a level where they are now work hand-in-hand with our technical teams in delivering humanitarian assistance."
